About Socolar
Background
Along with the growth of network technology, open accessed (OA) resources achieved unprecedented development. OA journals and OA repositories provide reseachers with a new source of academic information. However, OA resources are spreaded in different organizations’ proxys and websites around the world, which makes the full-scale search extremely different. Before, the consolidation of OA resources is mainly conducted through two projects—DOAJ and OpenDOAR. Also there has some similar works been done by institutes and individuals. But non of this projects have made the majority existing OA resource exposed to users in one single platform.
China Educational Publications Import and Export Corporation(CEPIEC) considers it is necessity to collect and aggregate the journals and repositories in the language of OA internationally into one website in a searchable format for the convenience of end users.
This is the aim of the building Socolar— To provide one stop search for all the open access information worldwide
